Timing and Shipping of Your Jewellery
How long does it take to make my jewellery?
Most of Kalt pieces are made to order, with care and attention to detail. Production generally takes up to 3 weeks. If you need your piece by a specific date, please contact us before placing your order. We'll do our best to accommodate you.
What if my jewellery is ready earlier?
If your piece is ready ahead of schedule, we'll ship it right away! You'll receive an email as soon as it's ready to go.

Every Kalt piece is handcrafted using the lost-wax casting technique, made to order or in small batches. We work with quality precious metals and pay close attention to every detail, from the first sketch to the finished piece.

What are the characteristics of sterling silver jewellery?
Jewellery made from 925 sterling silver is durable and does not require any special care. It can be worn every day while retaining its beauty over time.
However, to help preserve the shine of sterling silver and reduce the risk of oxidation, we recommend avoiding prolonged contact with chemicals, perfumes, creams, seawater and chlorinated pool water. These substances may accelerate the natural oxidation process and cause the silver to lose some of its original brightness.
What are the characteristics of brass jewellery?
Brass or Similoro is a copper and zinc alloy valued for its warm, golden appearance. Like all metal alloys, it may naturally oxidise over time. This process can occasionally leave a slight greenish mark on the skin. This is not an allergic reaction and can be easily removed by washing the affected area with soap and water.
What is oxidation?
Oxidation is a natural process that affects metals. It may be accelerated by several factors, including the natural acidity of the skin, humidity, perspiration, the use of creams and perfumes, and exposure to chlorine, seawater and thermal water.
How should I clean my jewellery?
To restore your jewellery’s shine, you can use a suitable commercial jewellery-cleaning product, use the polishing cloth provided with your purchase, or make a thick paste using water and baking soda. Apply the paste to the jewellery and gently rub it with a soft cloth.

How should I store my jewellery?
Store your jewellery wrapped in a soft cloth, inside a resealable plastic bag or in its original packaging. This helps reduce oxidation and preserve its appearance over time. Chains require particular care. Avoid wearing them while sleeping or during sports activities, and take care not to expose them to excessive tension, as this may cause damage or breakage.

Can I have my jewellery resized?
Yes, if the size isn't quite right, we're happy to adjust it. The first resize is free of charge. If further adjustments are needed after that, each additional resize costs 200 dkk.
Please let us know within 30 days of receiving your order, by emailing us at kaltjewellery@gmail.com with the reason for the exchange and your correct size. Shipping the piece back to our studio is arranged and paid for by the customer, the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us, so we recommend using a trackable, insured shipping service.
Once resized, we'll send it back to you, return shipping costs 169 DKK for express delivery within Denmark, 55 dkk for standard delivery to a pick up point, or a flat rate of 80 DKK to a pickup point in Europe.

Can I have my jewellery resized?

Can I return a piece I've purchased?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, in line with EU consumer law, as long as the piece is not a custom or personalised order. To be eligible, the item must be returned in its original packaging and show no signs of wear. Return shipping costs are covered by the customer. Since every custom piece is made specifically for you, personalised jewellery cannot be returned. If there's an issue with your order, a defect, or something that doesn't match what was agreed, please get in touch within 7 days of delivery at kaltjewellery@gmail.com. We'll do our best to help and find a solution together. Please also keep in mind that every piece is handmade, one at a time: small imperfections or slight differences from the photos are completely normal and are part of what makes handcrafted jewellery unique, not a flaw.
